波音777是一款由美國波音公司制造的長程雙發動機寬體客機，是目前全球最大的雙發動機寬體客機，三級艙布置的載客量由283人至368人，航程由5,235海里至9,450海里（9695公里至17500公里）。波音777采用圓形機身設計，起落架共有12個機輪，所采用的發動機直徑也是所有客機之中最大的。波音投入了大量資源以開發777，為波音史上第二次的豪賭，假如失敗，波音可能難逃破產命運，但結果證明波音777是一款成功的飛機。

在開發777-200型之前，波音曾提出777-100，其機身比777-200型短，航程較遠，載客量達250人，但因為營運成本與777-200型相若，且與767重復而未被量產。

777-200是屬于A型市場，是777家族中第一個機型，在1990年發布，每邊設有四道登機門，采用普惠PW4000、奇異GE90或勞斯萊斯TRENT 800發動機，推力超過74000磅力，最大起飛重量由505,000磅至545,000磅，最大航程達9695公里。首架波音777-200于1994年6月12日首飛，1995年4月19日取得適航證書，5月取得180分鐘雙發延程飛行認證后交付給首個客戶聯合航空。由于波音777是采用電腦立體CAD繪制技術設計，因此不需要原型機，因此所有777屬于量產型，首架所生產的777-200型亦在2000年交付給國泰航空。

直至2009年9月，波音共交付了88架777-200，其中有86架仍在營運中。777-200的直接競爭對手是A330-300。
