這款車是路特斯在2005年發布的一款針對比賽用途的單座賽車。它所采用的是蓮花最先進的科技結合Elise跑車的鋁合金底盤，為了盡量達到輕量化的目的，這款車大量采用了復合材料，整車重量控制在600公斤以內。路特斯也可以為其選配雙座布局。

動力方面，這款車采用了豐田的VVT-i智能型連續可變氣門正時和升程可變系統，除了標準的自然進氣型外還有一個機械增壓版本。兩款發動機在性能輸出上均達到賽車水平，其中自然吸氣版從靜止加速到100公里/小時需要4秒，直線加速到160公里/小時在11秒之內；機械增壓版本從靜止加速至100公里/小時只需3.5秒，加速至160公里/小時不到9秒。

盡管Circuit Car是一輛場地賽車，但它采用的很多創新技術同樣可以應用在其他車型上，從而為路特斯開發新款跑車提供借鑒。
