奧迪　A8L 40hybrid　車型是該車系在中國推出的首款混合動力車型。在外觀造型上，A8L 40 hybrid　與普通的奧迪　A8L　差距并不大，僅輪轂造型有所不同、前翼子板和車尾多了“hybrid”標識等。

車內也同樣如此，中控臺的布局、用料以及配置與普通的奧迪A8L如出一轍，僅儀表盤進行了全新設計，原本左側的轉速表的位置變成了能量輸出表和電池電量表。

動力系統方面，該車用的是　2.0TFSI　渦輪增壓 缸內直噴四缸汽油發動機+電動機的組合，綜合最大功率為245馬力，在整體系統全力運作的情況下，廠商公布的　0-100km/h　加速時間為7.7秒，極速為232km/h，綜合油耗為6.4L/100km。依舊采用8速手自一體變速箱，驅動形式為前置前驅。
