起亞在北美市場推出了大型Borrego SUV車款，該車配置了起亞首臺V8發動機4.2升，最大馬力可達337馬力。此外，起亞還提供了一款276馬力的V6發動機可供選擇——這也是個很明智的舉動，因為美國車主消費傾向正在從油老虎轉向更加經濟節能的車款。

這款新車之前的代號為“HM”。起亞在概念車基礎上進行了調整，造型顯得柔和，一些傳統的元素也添加到量產車型上。但是，前大燈造型和放大的輪拱都得以保留，還包括雙色調的車身面板。與Mesa的米色面板不同，前端下腹、后保險杠和側裙都采用迷人的灰色塑料板。

傳統的尾窗和車柱布置都出現在量產車上，而概念車上時尚的旅行車樣式傾斜車柱和大包圍風擋設計都不見了蹤影。

Borrego采用了最新的隔音和減振工程技術，應該是一款高性價比且安全可靠的起亞新車。起亞將為車主提供10年/16萬公里的保修期限。
