作為一款取代福特KUGA的新車型，該車還未亮相就已經受到不小的關注，嚴格意義上來說應該是屬于跨界車，因為隨著城市SUV車型的越來越火爆，沒有哪個廠商愿意放棄這塊奶酪。

車身尺寸方面，相對于現款福特KUGA，新車車長增加了100毫米，車寬增加了50毫米，這款跨界車將和C-MAX與?？怂构蚕砀Ｌ谻平臺。動力方面，新車搭載一款新的1.6升直列四缸渦輪增壓發動機，并且帶有發動機自動熄火和啟動功能，另外制動能量回收系統也將出現在新車上。

福特Kuga主打城市SUV的定位，采用的是Haldex智能電子式全時四驅系統。這個版本的適時四驅可以通過前輪的運轉情況來實現預判斷，在將路況地形反饋給電腦后，電腦將根據前后輪的附著力分配扭矩。
