從1989年推出至今，歷經3代的馬自達MX-5憑借著出色的操控樂趣一直受到很多車迷的青睞。2011款馬自達MX-5 GT是由馬自達和英國的Jota Sport車隊共同打造的，這款車采用了多種方式進行減重，包括使用了碳纖維車門、聚碳酸酯的車窗等材料，車身外殼耗時近400個小時打造，整車重量僅850公斤。

馬自達MX-5GT采用了綠色噴漆，并采用Jota Sport車隊的橘色花紋作為裝飾。按照FIA的規則，MX-5GT賽車還添加了防翻滾架和滅火器，另外還配備了賽車座椅、競賽級輪圈和方向盤。動力方面，這款賽車搭載的2.0升發動機最大功率輸出為279馬力，匹配6擋順序式變速箱，MX-5 GT從靜止加速至96公里/小時的時間僅需3秒，極速可達257.5公里/小時。
