柯尼塞格　CC8S　的8缸發動機來自福特野馬，盡管這臺發動機并不適合一輛超級跑車，通過柯尼塞格的改造，該發動機60％的零部件經過了升級。就實際性能而言，這臺機械增壓發動機顯然不如同時代的　V10　或　V12　發動機出色，主要問題在于該發動機的扭矩輸出特性，它的扭矩曲線更像一臺只在乎高轉功率的老舊渦輪增壓發動機，當發動機處于3000轉／分時，其750牛米的峰值扭矩僅能輸出50％左右。如果從80公里/小時加速至113公里/小時，帕加尼　Zonda C12S　只需要4.4秒，但柯尼塞格　CC8S　卻需要夸張的10.2秒。
