簡要說明	1955年，克萊斯勒推出了第一輛300型號的轎車。因其發動機能達到300馬力(221kW)而被稱為“300”，巨大的動力使“300”百公里時速加速加速時間僅需9.8秒。這是美國歷史上第一次達到這個動力的汽車發動機。 1956年，新款300系列面世，命名為300B，而使用字母區分車型年代的做法就此誕生。300B裝備最新的Hemi V8發動機，可以輸出340馬力。 1957年，300系列第一次提供敞篷版本——雙門敞篷300C推出。從法拉利一般的進氣隔柵到漂亮的尾鰭，300-C散發著其他轎車無可比擬的吸引力,車上每一處的設計都成為了美國的經典，甚至是美國的標志。 1958年，擋風玻璃稍加改動、在輪轂上噴涂紅色以外，在選裝表中添加電子燃油噴射系統的300D問世,而其搭載的HEMI發動機更是揭開了其傳奇的篇章并在克萊斯勒300轎車中應用了47年。
