簡要說明	在2013年4月份上海車展上，Jeep在國內首發了全新中型SUV——自由光。全新的自由光的設計風格和此前大不相同，雖然還是7輻式進氣格柵，但是格柵樣式并非傳統的豎直設計。此外前大燈組采用了分離式的設計，使得新車顯得很獨特。同時全新樣式的保險杠套件也使其具有些運動風格。內飾方面，自由光采用駕駛者導向的設計，車主還可以選裝加熱真皮方向盤等配置。根據配置不同，新車儀表盤中的液晶屏有3.5英寸單色和7英寸彩色兩種，能夠顯示例如油耗、導航、巡航以及四驅信息。中控屏根據配置不同有5英寸和8.4英寸可選。新車還引入了ACC自適應巡航、車道偏移提示、碰撞預警、盲點監測、自動泊車等配置，并標配了10安全氣囊。動力方面，配備2.4L Tigershark四缸發動機，最大功率輸出184馬力，峰值扭矩232N·m。高配車型配備3.2L Pentastar發動機，最大功率輸出271馬力，最大扭矩324牛米。傳動系統該車配備的是同級別首創的9速自動變速箱。此外，新車還具備Selec-Terrain全路況模式自選系統提供包括自動、雪地、運動、沙地/泥地以及巖石5種路況模式選擇。
