簡要說明	法拉利126 CK單座賽車是126s型號系列眾多車型中的第一款。由于新的1.5升渦輪增壓V6發動機與自然吸氣式12缸發動機完全不同，外形更短也更窄。這就需要設計一款全新的車型才能使用這種發動機。于是法拉利126 CK應運而生。126 CK的問世標志著法拉利雙渦輪時代的來臨。在馬拉內羅，法拉利車隊決定推遲將新發動機運用到賽車中去的時間，一是為了充分利用自然吸氣發動機，還有一個原因就是想嘗試使用126 CX中所用到的另一型號的壓縮機Comprex。盡管從理論上說這是一項十分有趣的嘗試，但新裝置很難達到競賽所用發動機的要求。法拉利被迫放棄這一方案，只有126 CK仍然使用渦輪增壓發動機。 126 CK保留了大側吊艙，這種側吊艙現在裝有用于發動機壓縮空氣的熱交換器。此外，這款車的前懸掛采用傳統結構，上搖臂裝有內彈簧，而后懸掛則裝有帶可調節臂的叉臂。在斯切科特（Scheckter）離開法拉利車隊之后，年輕的法國車手Didier Pironi加入車隊與吉耶•維倫紐夫（Gilles Villeneuve）并肩作戰。吉耶這位加拿大車手在賽場上極具天賦，曾在蒙特卡洛和Jarama獲勝。然而，穩定性仍然是一個問題，法拉利及其車手在爭奪世界冠軍的艱苦戰役中敗下陣來，最后獲勝的是巴西人Nelson Piquet。
