簡要說明	1951年法拉利超越了阿爾法羅密歐。這一年法拉利共生產了3款單座賽車，其中一款就是212 F1。Donato Serafini駕駛該款單座賽車在Syracuse GP大獎賽獲得第二名，僅落后于韋路列斯（Villoresi）的375 F1。得益于對大量發動機和底盤的耐久性實驗，法拉利幾乎能夠完全按照客戶要求制造出特別版本的跑車，正如212車型的示例，一輛被視為擁有F1血統的單座跑車，盡管其自然吸氣式發動機排量僅為2.562升，并且如212的標簽所示，最大輸出功率僅為200馬力，但匹配5擋手動變速箱，這款車帶來的表現也征服了不少車手。這款車的性能甚至還使其能夠應用于特殊比賽中，比如瑞士獨有的山地爬坡賽。法拉利生產了兩個版本的212 F1，一個版本具有De Dion后軸，另一個具有震蕩半軸，在1951年的多場比賽中使用，由車手Serafini (DD) 和瑞士人Fisher駕駛，后者擁有其他跑車，還有自己的車隊，名叫Ecurie Espadon。
