簡要說明	波音 707-420 因應英國海外航空航空要求而研制，飛機由勞斯萊斯 Conway 508 渦輪扇引擎推動，雖然該型是由英國BOAC航空提出，但德國漢莎航空被宣傳為此機的啟始客戶。1960年，印度航空交付首架 707-420 型。在1959年10月19日，一架波音 707 原型機作一次在飛機交付給布蘭尼夫國際航空之前的“顧客保證”和訓練飛行。飛機由布蘭尼夫航空的機長和波音的飛行練習員作為輔導員。而其他布蘭尼夫國際航空的人員和波音公司人員就在機上作觀察員。當時，其中一個引擎正在執行最大功率輸出時，突然飛機失去控制，但不久飛機恢復操控。但是飛機在操控期間，第1，2和4號引擎突然關閉，加上，由引擎所噴出的熾熱的火燒毀了2號引擎的零件區域附近。最后，飛機緊急下降，并且在河岸附近墜毀，機上12人全部喪生。自此，707-220 就結束了它的使命，也退出了歷史的舞臺。
